Maize Inbred Line — Yu 1122

Breeding Background

Developed by crossing CB28 with PH6WC, followed by backcrossing with CB28 for systematic selection.

Characteristics

The whole growth period of this inbred line is about 98 days.

It features a compact plant type with upright and broad leaves. Plant height is 150 cm, ear height 70 cm. The tassel has 3 branches; anthers are yellow, silks light purple, with medium pollen yield.

Ear length 13 cm, ear diameter 4.0 cm, kernel rows 12–14, 1000-kernel weight 312.2 g. The ear is cylindrical with a white cob; kernels are yellow and flint type.

It shows resistance to ear rot, northern corn leaf spot, rust and curvularia leaf spot.

It has strong combining ability with Huang-modified Lancaster inbred lines, featuring high general combining ability, good grain quality and strong seedling emergence performance.
